Dr. Orazio L. Giliberti, FACS
Dr. Orazio L. Giliberti, FACS is an experienced ophthalmologist and a laser certified refractive surgeon with nearly 25 years of experience in comprehensive eye care including laser and cataract surgery.
Dr. Orazio L. Giliberti, FACS has maintained a private practice in Totowa since 1988 and has performed thousands of ophthalmic surgical procedures including cataracts and laser procedures.
Dr. Orazio L. Giliberti, FACS was trained in laser vision correction nearly 15 years ago in Canada, prior to FDA approval in the U.S. He was the first ophthalmologist in New Jersey to receive training in Toronto directly with VISX, the world’s leading eye laser company.
He completed his Fellowship in ophthalmology at Pennsylvania Hospital and completed his residency at the University of Medicine & Dentistry of New Jersey (UMDNJ). He offers custom care in the latest methods of refractive surgery including Custom LASIK, PRK, and LASEK .
Dr. Orazio L. Giliberti, FACS personally sees and cares for all patients in the practice and works with other ophthalmic sub-specialists that are specialized in retina and oculoplastics.
In addition to being in private practice, Dr. Orazio L. Giliberti, FACS is Professor and Chairman of Ophthalmology at St. George’s University School of Medicine, Grenada, and holds the same position at Seton Hall University in New Jersey.
He is also Associate Professor of Ophthalmology at UMDNJ and a NJ State Police Benevolent Association (PBA) Physician.
Dr. Orazio L. Giliberti, FACS has received the Physician Recognition Award each year from the American Medical Association (AMA). He is a member of the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons (ASCRS).
To provide our patients with a safer and more convenient treatment facility, we constructed a state-of-the-art, Medicare and State-licensed, ambulatory surgery center dedicated only to ophthalmology. River Drive Surgery and Laser Center was completed and fully certified in 1999. Our patients can now avoid hospitals and enjoy premier laser and eye surgery in the comfort and convenience of an outpatient setting.
River Drive meets and exceeds all of the requirements of a hospital and is staffed with board-certified anesthesiologists, medical physicians, registered nurses and ophthalmic scrub technicians. About 15,000 patients each year now choose to have their eye procedures performed at River Drive Surgery and Laser Center.
Dr. Dominick Golio
Dr. Dominick Golio received his Bachelor of Science degree, Magna Cum Laude, from Manhattan College and his medical degree from St. George’s University.
He completed his primary surgical training at New York Medical College. He then completed additional fellowship training in Plastic Surgery at the University of Texas and Craniofacial Surgery at Primary Children’s Medical Center, Craniofacial Foundation of Utah Program in Salt Lake City.
Dr. Dominick Golio was appointed adjunct professor of surgery for St. George’s University in April 2005 and Clinical Assistant Professor of Plastic Surgery and Ophthalmology at the State University of New York, Downstate Medical Center in 2006. He is also the Director of Craniofacial and Pediatric Plastic Surgery at State University of New York, Downstate Medical Center.
He has authored two text book chapters, several peer reviewed manuscripts and has lectured nationally and internationally on skull base surgery.
Dr. Dominick Golio’s research interests include management of keloids, advancements in management of Pediatric and Adult Craniomaxillofacial Trauma, and Head and Neck Reconstrcuctive Surgical Oncology.
Dr. Dominick Golio is presently licensed to practice medicine in New York State and is in the process of obtaining his New Jersey license.
