No-Cut Laser Vision Correction

Did You Know?

At Giliberti Eye and Laser Center, we offer our patients a no-cut laser vision correction procedure, known as Photorefractive Keratectomy, or PRK! This type of procedure does not involve cutting a flap in the cornea, which is the method used during LASIK. October is Halloween Eye Safety Month!

With Halloween soon upon us, it is not only important to remember safety while trick-or-treating, but also while planning the perfect costume! Decorative lenses are often times especially appealing during Halloween because they can change the appearance of the eyes. Although decorative lenses may seem “cool,” they are not fashion accessories or makeup, and are still considered medical devices that are regulated by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). Eye Safety Tips to Experience the Solar Eclipse Without Damaging Your Vision

On August 21, 2017, “In a 70-mile wide band from central Oregon through South Carolina, a total eclipse of the sun will be visible across the entire continental United States for the first time in almost 40 years. The rest of the nation and parts of North and Central America will experience a partial solar eclipse.” [1] During this unique and exciting event, make sure to be prepared with proper eye protection!
