At Giliberti Eye and Laser Center, we care deeply about the safety and well-being of our patients, visitors, physicians, and employees during this current global pandemic. Due to the widespread outbreak of the Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) that causes coronavirus disease (COVID-19), the office is continuing to closely monitor and follow the most up-to-date guidance from organizations such as the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), American College of Surgeons (ACS), New Jersey Department of Public Health, and the American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO).
For the protection and safety of patients and team members, we are using an abundance of caution with strict social distancing, and plan to resume in-person patient care when proper personal protective equipment is adequate and available.
To that end, Giliberti Eye and Laser Center is now offering telehealth eye visits to assure for your safety. Many of your medical concerns can be addressed by this visit type. Please note, certain parameters of the eye examination cannot be tested remotely, such as eye pressure, and the information transmitted with telemedicine may not be sufficient to allow for appropriate medical decision making by the health care provider. If you are interested in scheduling a telehealth eye visit, please contact the office at (973) 595-0011 to speak with our staff. You may be asked to download and print an eye chart to assess your vision virtually. Eye charts are available for download, courtesy of the American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO).
If you are experiencing any sudden change or loss of vision, flashes, floaters, or other related retinal issues, please contact our referring consultants, NJ Retina, at the Wayne office at (973) 633-9898 or the Belleville office at (973) 450-5100.
