Overview

About Cornea Conditions

Corneal conditions range from mild irritation to vision-threatening disease. Whether you have been diagnosed with keratoconus, suffer from recurrent corneal erosions, or need evaluation for a corneal transplant, our experienced team provides the comprehensive care you need.

The cornea is the clear, dome-shaped front window of the eye — and even minor abnormalities can significantly blur vision and cause discomfort. Our specialists treat the full spectrum of corneal conditions, from dry spots and surface disease to advanced keratoconus and corneal scars requiring transplantation. Using Pentacam corneal topography, OCT imaging, and specular microscopy, we diagnose corneal disease with exceptional detail and provide both medical and surgical treatments tailored to each patient.

  • Full spectrum of treatment from drops to transplant
  • Expertise in keratoconus and ectatic disease

What to Expect

Your Journey to Better Vision

01

Corneal Topography & Imaging

Pentacam Scheimpflug imaging maps the shape, thickness, and curvature of your cornea in 3D, detecting early keratoconus or other irregularities invisible to standard testing.

02

Medical Management

Many corneal conditions respond to topical treatments including lubricating drops, hypertonic solutions, antibiotics, or anti-inflammatory agents. We optimize medical therapy before considering surgery.

03

Specialty Contact Lens Fitting

For keratoconus and irregular corneas, rigid gas-permeable or scleral contact lenses can dramatically improve vision. We coordinate fitting with our optometric colleagues.

04

Surgical Intervention

When indicated, we offer DALK (deep anterior lamellar keratoplasty), DSAEK/DMEK (endothelial keratoplasty), and penetrating keratoplasty (PKP) for appropriate candidates.
